"We wanted a kitchen that fit in with the style of this house but also provided a point of difference. A standard New Zealand basic-white kitchen would never have worked with the rustic industrial vibe we were creating, using exposed brick wall and plywood ceiling features and tiled concrete-look floors. It needed to be special.
The etched graphite panelling we chose has a beautiful perfectly-imperfect texture that really brings in our rustic industrial theme, but still gives the kitchen clean modern lines.
The walnut timber-look panelling looks fantastic with it's wood grain lined up and flowing around the island bench and through the drawers. It really highlights this kitchen as the central focal point of the house, and ties in all the elements of the style we wanted to achieve.”
